Mass and Surface in Architecture

Surface envelop the mass and create mass with lines. Architects to-day are afraid of the geometrical constituents of surfaces but engineers can create a lot of forms with using relations of lines.In the present working, although surface extinguish the advantages of mass, in fact form of surfaces are made by lines.

Furthermore the primary and the purest states of geometry are spheres, cones and cylinders but these states scare the architects and they can not use these purity because they have contemporary aestheticts worries. However according to primary needs, engineers can made lines of mass and create limpid and moving plastic facts.

Research of Pure Creation of Mind

“Pure Creation of Mind” is an essay in a book which is “Towards an Architecture”.The author of this book is Le Corbusier.Le Corbuiser was a French Architect also he was urban planner, painter, sculptor, writer and modern furniture designer. He wrote this book in 1923 for new architects. The general aim of this book is that he wanted something from new architect. For example they should not copy the old models and he wanted from them that they should find the new and creative way for their new models.If I mention about Pure Creation of Mind. The importance of book is that I think, the author mentioned the emotions in Architecture. He explained the mean of Architecture very well.

The Relationship between Music and Architecture

Music and Architecture have some similar features. When I watched video and I read the book, I notice these features. The first feature is “HARMONY” . Whereas the only note doesn’t have any meaning, the combination of notes do us good.Also in Architecture, harmony is the most important thing in any structures.

The second feature is “POETİC EMOTİON”. Emotion is the touchstone of music and architecture because when emotion enter construction, we can say something about Architecture. Otherwise, the construction which is without emotions is only construction. Moreover in music, if there are not emotions, it can not touch our heart, it can not arouse our feelings.

I met a new word which is superimposed this week. I print the my first and second model’s image on acetate paper and my teachers hope that combining these images with different angles and making a model what are occured by this combining.

My First Impression about Architecture

Hello! I am Cansu. Honestly, although I wanted to be a dentist, I always interested in drawing. Because of that I think that Architecture is the most appropriate job for me. In my opinion The discipline of Architecture is a general subject which can transform the time to object. This transform is a way of explanation myself. The disipline of Architecture contain a lot of words which are used in models and also relations and abstractions of elements. In my opinion productıon and thinking are the most important things for Architects. If the Architect can think 3D and basic, he or she will be successful in business life. Because of that Architecture is a discipline which is about geometry, math and pyhsics. Now I think that the Architecture is the best job for me. Because in my daily life I ask a lot of questions to myself and with this way I try to solve my problems.
